Estate Planning at Greenberg Estate Planning, PLLC focuses on your PACT. Your PACT includes the People in your life, the Assets you own or may acquire, the Charities you support, and the Taxes you want to avoid.
By focusing on all aspects of your PACT, Dave will create an estate plan that is tailored to your needs. The core planning documents generally include a will or set of wills and a revocable living trust if one is warranted. These core documents detail who is going to receive your assets and how they will receive those assets. Depending on the situation, the customization of these core documents can address trusts for spouses, trusts for children, estate tax planning, charitable giving, asset protection, business continuity/transition planning, and much more.
The initial phase of any estate plan will include those core planning documents, as well as medical and financial powers or attorney, health care directives, and directions as to disposition of remains.
If a client’s goals and assets justify more advanced planning, phase two of such an estate plan can include various gifting and trust strategies such as: Irrevocable Life Insurance Trusts (ILIT); Dynasty Trusts; Qualified Personal Residence Trust (QPRT); Intentionally Defective Grantor Trusts (IDGT); Grantor Retained Annuity Trusts (GRAT); and various Charitable Trusts.
As your PACT changes, your plan will need to change with it. Dave offers a free review of your plan every other year. If an aspect of your PACT changes, edits to your plan can be made accordingly. Even if you do not take Dave up on the free review every other year, we recommend you review your plan regularly to ensure it fits with your current goals.
