Probate and Trust Administration
In addition to preparing the estate plans, Dave devotes a large portion of his practice to the administration of wills and trusts.
In Washington, probate is not an onerous process. Dave works with personal representatives (executors) to ensure that all the probate requirements are met in an efficient manner. He assists the personal representatives in notifying beneficiaries and creditors. He works with the personal representatives to pay any estate taxes that may be owed. He then helps with the final distribution of the assets and the closing of an estate.
The administration of a revocable living trust after the grantor passes away requires many of the same steps as the probate process. Dave routinely works with trustees of revocable living trusts to ensure all the requirements are met for a smooth administration of the trust.
Dave also works with trustees of irrevocable trusts to ensure that those trusts are administered according to the terms of the document, the relevant statutes, and in the best interest of the beneficiaries.
Dave works with both professional and individual trustees and personal representatives.
